My first V8V oil change

When I drain the oil from an engine, I like to warm up the oil to operating temperature to make the oil flow better. I usually do this with the car jacked up slightly at the front for access. I know that on a conventional oil sump, you need to ensure that you have not jacked up the car too much that the oil pickup can't pump the oil through the engine.
Is this a similar concern for the dry sump system on a V8V? I have the front wheels of the car elevated off the garage floor about 12 inches. Is it okay to start the engine with the front of the car elevated?

under which part of "la liste" do you fail .......don't tell me your poor !......there again, with my recent purchases and repairs to my grade 11 listed end terrace I think I might qualify under that heading at the moment

We looked at a G2 listed school house
The listing applies to the WHOLE building ANY work must be approved by the local council conservation officer via planning permission
The current owner is responsible for ANYTHING previously done that does not comply to the listing
It is a nightmare as the Conservation Officers are too stretched to be any help and simple fall back on "it's your problem to sort through planning"
Thankfully the place we are buying is ~1800 and not listed
