Possibly silly V8V question from a new boy

Hi - just migrated from 7 years of Mercedes to Aston - love the car so far but miss a few creature comforts.
Mine does not have memory seats - no problem in itself, but that also means it doesn't have memory mirrors either.
So - reverse parallel parking - I can buzz the passenger mirror down to see what I'm about to run over / into - well, almost, hence the question.
The mirror will dip to let me see the upper half of the rear wheel arch, but no further down to the important bit (the kerb to avoid!). If I take the mirror to its highest setting, I can almost see the sky, so it's like it needs to be physically moved a few notches down.
Is this "doable"? Logic dictates it should be, but I don't want to break anything (and when did logic have much to do with car design?!?).

Had something similar on my DB7, same Ford/Volvo part. The mechanic at Chiltern just pushed it by hand, it made some alarming clicks on the ratchet but it was sorted. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THAT YOU DO THIS YOURSELF HOWEVER!!

Tried that last night - had it pointing as low as it would go by using the switch - no further movement by pressing on the galss.Very odd as the driver's side will (just) let me see the tyre, but obviously all the angles are different relative to my head

Would it not be better to point the mirror to the sky as high as it will go, and then then physically push the mirror down a little? By reducing the max at the top end, you may then increase the max at the bottom end, i.e. be able to see the curb.Very odd as the driver's side will (just) let me see the tyre, but obviously all the angles are different relative to my head

no danger (he says!) - have many such t-shirts, albeit none yet for mirrors.Bottom line - no change. I can move the mirror in any direction by hand, accompanied by clicks from inside the housing - the actual mirror however is clearly being prevented from any further movement in the desired downward direction.
I'm taking it to the local dealer sometime soon anyway so they can take nice pictures of the corroded mirror mountings (both sides). Appears to be a common fault so having bypassed the dealer thus far, called AM customer services and got a potentially postive response, above being next step.
If AM stands the swap, the mirrors have to come off in any case, so I'll wait until then & get the dealers to look.
