new rapide

It's got a spoiler now. Is that it, or am I blind? I was looking at getting a Rapide at one point, but they look weird in the metal. Not sure if this is an improvement.

Aargh. On my iPhone, that stupid teamspeed.com website insists on showing me a "mobile" version of the website which doesn't allow me to zoom in on the thumbnail-sized pictures. Even when I click on the Normal Version" link at the bottom of the page, it reverts to showing the mobile version.

What (little) I can see of the Rapide looks nice. The rear looks like the DBS, front like a Virage.

I think the front looks great, but I really don't like the back - that chrome strip coupled with nasty extended rear end reminds me of an A7 sportback! I recon it's needs a beefy diffuser like the DBS!

Does that roofline look a little higher? The back window looks lower and the ridge over the side windows looks deeper to me, but thats without hunting out a picture of the original

Looks just like the old one with a Virage front valance and DBS tailgate. Really don't understand why Aston bother doing this, unless the dev costs are zero because the parts are interchangeable. It's not going to result in doubled sales, and the "family look" was there anyway in the context of it being an older model. Just wait until you change the car properly (unless you can't afford to do that and feel the need to tinker...).

I think the Rapide would look much better on different wheels - the multispoke jobs make it look a bit heavy. 5 spokes like the sportpack wheels on the coupes would look good I reckon. The rear view also looks a bit narrow in the metal. I suspect the chrome strip might be to try and make the car look wider (and is a throw back to the Vanq). I suspect actually making it a bit wider would have been better, perhaps flaring the rear out from the rear doors to give it One-77 overtones? Though it's hardly a narrow car already...

The current model also has the chrome strip, which works much better.

It had the lights before the Virage did, but yes it now has the valance.

At the rate they are going every car in the range will have been 'refreshed' for the centenary year - can't wait to see what they have got in store for the Cygnet It's the only one left isn't it - perhaps a Virage front and a Vanquish rear spoiler

I wonder if they have a random number generator to match part number against the new model it is going on?
