TPMS in the cold

Yesterday i started the car after 4days and i was about 12degrees outside , and the tpms showed 3 under inflated tyres, got out and checked they all seem fine (no slashed tires anyway)drove a mile down the road and it when back to normal, So i was just wondering whether this was a common issue in cold weather

It is if the tyres are near the low limit to begin with.

you will increase by about 0.2 bar from cold to hot

Sounds like a warning that the tyres need a bit of air - my tpms acted in a similar way a few months ago so I checked them all next time they were cold and the system was correct.

No Mikey - I do of course refer to the AM compressor in the boot

Explains why only 3 off them were showing low air as i had a tyre replaced which didnt show up as low air. off to the petrol station tonight then.

Funnily enough I had this first thing this morning 3 psi in all four sorted!
