Eurowatch tracking

For the first time today, I heard a SMS arrive about 10 mins after starting the car. I didn't look at it straight away since I was enjoying driving too much, and as happens with me, promptly forgot about it.
When I got to where I was going I saw that I had a message from Eurowatch alerting me and saying to text my code back. Except I have no idea what my code is and couldn't find it in my paper work. I texted a likely code back and heard nothing, so I assumed all was good.
My car started fine.
When I got home I realised I had texted the wrong code. I'm a bit bemused that nothing has happened. No call, no further text. Is this usual?
Also, the tag was in my pocket and is only 9 months old. Surely the battery can't be dead already?

Mine has triggered a few times, due to faulty tags, tags with flat batteries and when it has not paired correctly with my iPhone.
On each occasion, the text message has been followed quickly by a telephone call requesting the code. They also accept another answer (which you will know!) but I don't think an open forum is the best place to post the question.
Best to give them a call and explain what happened.

Karen and I went for a pre-La Manga meal last week to a restaurant 5 miles away. My iPhone is my paired device and I didn't take it with me by accident and I only realised this on the way home when the red light on the dash stayed on for about a mile then went off. When I got home there was no text asking for my pin number which is usually the case.
Judging by previous threads on this subject my car would have been continually tracked so no problem there and there was no call from me to alert them otherwise.
It just seems a bit strange

I have have to say I find the EW service very good. The text message is normally quite prompt, entering the incorrect pin or not replying to the text normally results in quite a courteous call to confirm the pin.
They did make sure though the tracker/signal was all in order when I took ownership of my car - maybe worth a call to them to do a test of your systems?

Max, all I would say is that - just for a laugh - do not reply next time they ask for a Pin and see what happens. They did make sure though the tracker/signal was all in order when I took ownership of my car - maybe worth a call to them to do a test of your systems?

Slightly off topic,1 of my euro watch tags has I suspect a flat battery mentioned this to dealer who kindly offered to replace for a price.Yet the system is still under warranty as it fitted to my 2010 v8vr, I would have thought that would have included the tags.
Has anyone had similar if so what was the outcome

Some Members insist that their tags are replaced annually as part of the service, but the majority of us run our iPhones (or suitable other) as a tracker tag.
Costs nothing and takes less than 60s for Eurowatch to do for you
