Is the passenger door mirror supposed to tilt to the kerb when in reverse?
Or is that one of the many options available.

Mine does - I think it comes with the powerfold mirror option - well worth it IMHO to protect those lovely Diamond Cut wheels from nasty kerb rash

On the DB9 it tilts to the kerb in reverse but has to be enabled by the dealer with a software upgrade/flash......if you lose electrical power due to a flat battery then the dealer has to reflash the memory again........I assume it’s the same with the V8V

Mine has powerfold mirros but the passenger mirror doesn't dip when reversing.

Hmm, have to check that out with the dealer. I have powerfold mirrors but no dipping of the passenger mirror in reverse. I had it on the S4 and it was very useful.

Hi My V8V has powerfold mirrors and to get them to dip, press menu then car settings. Following that ,select mirror settings and there are three options, auto (when reverse selected) then passenger only and finally driver and passenger. If auto does not has an X beside it the mirrors will not move with reverse gear. Hope my memory is not playing tricks but this is what I recall, by the way the car is MY12 if that makes any difference.

I wonder if this is a change that came in after the 2007 cars. I'll check but I don't think I saw this in my 2007 V8V.

Indeed, it's a model year function. Can't be enabled on my '06 jalopy

Animal, my understanding of the auto-dipping in reverse is this....

It was available on early model DB9s (possibly V8s too) but when they changed the wing mirror design to a more modern look they experienced numerous complaints of it going so far then clicking back on itself as it reached its furthest point. Try this on your car and see if it clicks back at its extremity. Therein began a period when some models could not have auto-dipping and AM even went so far as deleting it from the menu of my MY09 DB9.

The new mirror design (MY10 onwards?) has facilitated the return of auto-dipping in the menu.

So the answer is yes and no.

If you have memory seats you will have powerfold but you may not have auto-dipping

When I got my powerfold mirrors reactivated (due to a dead and replaced battery) the dealer asked me whether I wanted the dip function as well....so if you have powerfold then you should have the option to have the dip function if you want it. However, they said it wasn't very popular - so I said no!

My MY10 V8V with powerfold has it as an option from the menu. I usually have it turned off so I can reverse through my gates
