Phew - am I glad I have a warranty at the moment or what!
I took my '05 DB9 for its 7 year service at Bamford Rose a few weeks ago - the guys there did a fantastic job and identified a few jobs that needed tending to! They were listed as a failed rear damper, coil pack issues (new plugs as part of the service but misfire still persisted) and a very heavy clutch that needed looking at. I would have loved to have had the whole job done by Bamford Rose but, alas, they cannot conduct AM warranty work so I took it to North One service centre last week and have nothing but good things to say at the moment. They still have my car - due to collect in a couple of weeks when I'm back from my holidays - but the communication has been outstanding. They have just called to say they've been arguing with the AM warranty firm about my issues and have come back with approvals for the following:
All 12 coil packs replaced.
Both master and slave clutch cylinder replacements.
Both rear dampers replaced inc. hunter machine laser realignment afterwards.
I probably got unlucky with the failures but I don't know how much all of that would have cost me had I not got a warranty - but I'd guess at £5k+ inc labour&VAT. Anyway - I don't want to end on a bad note but it is a reminder of how expensive these cars are to fix. Definitely giving my option of extending the warranty next year some consideration now!

Excellent news James !!
I believe your Warranty Plus would have been automatically included in your January purchase from Stratstone.
What I find a wee bit disconcerting is that a car with 25k miles has such issues, but then again I'm not overly bright on cars
Yeh I did get the Warranty Plus with my purchase. I've had quite a few bits done to the car since - this being by far the largest job list. I ended up taking the car to a 'third-party' service center versus going back to where I purchased it as they said over the phone "We will not replace the other rear shock if only one has failed" even though it is recommended by Aston to replace in pairs only! North One, without me even prompting, said "We will replace both even if only one has failed". Strange given it's the same warranty!!!I believe your Warranty Plus would have been automatically included in your January purchase from Stratstone.

I, too, am not sure why these issues have come up but the car has now done nearly 34,000 miles
- Glad the Plus Warranty is 1 year unlimited miles.By the way - To answer your question in another thread, my new mirrors are excellent - they still powerfold on demand as before (cyclist friendly when crossing a certain Welsh national park
) but do not dip on reverse or powerfold automatically when the car is locked. If I'm reading this right, the DB9 was purchased in January from a main dealer and the boys at B.R have identified a bunch of warranty work after 8 months of ownership. A couple of thoughts......... Firstly, just what is included in the 140 point check? And, surely the way to go is for an independent specialist to give our P&J's the once over a couple of months before the warranties expire and then go back to AM main dealers to have resolved. Sorry if this is stating the bleeding obvious, but I get the feeling that I ought to have a strategy in place.

LD - I belive James has taken his car for a regular service before his warranty expires and some warranty issues have been noticed.I did mine 6 months ago before the original warranty expired and certain issues were spotted by the Dealer this time.
Whether you use Dealer or Indy, the key is to get them to service and go over your car in minute detail before the warranty expires
