Vanquish launch evening

Morning all,

Went to the Amersham Vanquish launch night last night. no doubt about it, stunning in the flesh. Cant help but feel very under-whelmed with the interior though. I noticed some cost cutting cheaper trim items, not least the driver dials sitting on a black (plastic?) background, rather than the current appearance of being milled out of one piece of material. This car is doing the rounds of all the south/east dealerships at the minute, so would be interested to hear what others thought?

Pre-production stuff on details like that hopefully..? I guess they're looking for feedback on it, did you give it?

Of course.....not that it was well received. I mentioned a few bits, but they were quickly dis-missed and attention diverted to some of the more flattering points!

I also suggested if you removed the rear aero-foil, there was a slight resemblance to the Porsche Panamera. It was at that point i got my coat.......

That is a shame - I guess the worng people are running these events

Was this invite only? I've got a couple of free nights coming up so wouldn't mind finding a dealer in the local (Berkshire/Oxfordshire) area to go and have a look - can't find any information out on where they're showing the car at

Maybe, but I guess to a point its too late for feedback by the time these events are running. As I understand it, they are falling off the production line at quite some rate as we speak!

I won't mention the cheesy tasteless tacky cheap intro video they show before the silk comes off the car

yep, was invite only. I think they are coming up at sevenoaks, and maybe reading soon though? Worth a little ring around, I'm sure you could get in somewhere.

The Vanquish is on tour around all the Dealers. It's in Sevenoaks on the 19th. Dealers are inviting guests.
Give your local Dealer a ring and enquire....

On a positive note, the car was in hammerhead silver, which helped the CF tongue-like splitter blend in a little bit better. To be fair, its a lot more homogeneous than the DBS. It doesn't look like its just had a kit and bling slapped on it!

Thanks guys; I've got quite a good relationship with Lancaster Reading, considering I am not yet a customer so I might give them a call and see when the car is in and if I can sneak through the doors

Theirs was on the 11th I think - you've already missed it. I had an invite, just very little motivation!

To me, it looks like the same gauge cluster as in the V12V and DBS, which was not a cost-cutting measure, but instead touted as a conscious design choice for the higher performance models, like adding the exposed CF.

I thought the car was a big step up from the DBS in terms of styling, detailing and especially interior.

I felt it was a worthy flagship car apposed to a DB9 with a bodykit. Worth popping down to have a look at.
