Denison Gateway 500 Ipod Connector Digital or Analogue

With the new iPhone coming with a new connector this means it will not connect to the Denison IPod Interface, there is a solution in the form of a £25 old to new adapter but this only accepts the digital audio and throws away the analogue, so does anyone know does the Denison use the Digital Signal? I'd like to think it does...

Reading the article tells me that your iphone 4,3, iPod etc is pushing out analog and digital output is new to the 5.
Since this adapter has a digital to analog converter, it'll basically turn the 5s digi output back to the analog that your current docks still expect. Therefore don't see a problem - thank god as I have a dension fitted to mine!

It is annoying but if it makes the phone thinner and charge/sync faster then I think it's worth it. Plus there is a converter and it will have its own charger that comes with the phone, so not that much of an issue. Or just buy a classic iPod for all music etc like I did

Yes, but then you end up with yet another device which is really annoying when your phone can do exactly the same job (or should be able to). I might have to do this though if my dension doesn't work with the 5 :-( (actually, i'd just buy an android, but our company IT dept still hasn't approved android to securely connect to our network!).Slarti said:

Irritating to have another thing to get yes, still won't stop me buying an iPhone 5! I just leave the iPod in the car for music, and I'll buy the lightning adaptor for my work charger then I'll be sorted Well, just ordered and paid for 2 iphone 5s (the other for mrs slarti aka tarti) so lets see what happens. Will report back once they've arrived. In the meantime, this provides a wee bit of comfort:

It's bigger, but didn't feel that big to handle (especially when you consider the screen is 20% bigger, it had better battery life, expandable memory etc etc). You must have small hands George 
I think Apple have missed a trick here. A phone the size of the current 4/4S, plus one of similar size to the S3 or maybe even a fraction larger, would have been a pretty tasty line up, and possibly obviated the need for a small iPad (which is all but inevitable now Apple appear to be playing sheep rather than shepherd).

The bit I hate is the width of it, can't get a nice grip like on an iPhone. That's why I like what they've done with the 5, made it taller but not wider. Fits in my girl like hands perfectly I think Apple have missed a trick here. I thought the S3 was fine, but I do have hands like shovels. I also preferred the general shape of the S3 to my iPhone 4. ).Never thought I'd consider a Samsung phone after seeing their earlier efforts, but this one looked pretty polished.
As for the small iPad, the original was an answer to a question no one asked too...
Binned mine for an 11" Macbook Air, but the other half loves the iPad and it does come in handy now and then. It will be especially useful when Jr is wanting to watch stuff in the back of the car.
iPhone's getting a bit staid though IMO. iOS needs a proper revamp.
Tried a Macbook air but couldn't see the point when I already have a Macbook pro. I like the iPad as it's great for web surfing, easier to use than the Macbook so that's why I use it. I couldn't see me using a Macbook air instead of a Macbook pro 
I agree IOS could do with a revamp, but at the same time, it does everything I need it to very well, so what would need to change? The old 'if it ain't broke' type thing

^ 100%, it seems with MS every other OS is a good one these days
Like others have said, the S3 is just too big for my pockets. The iPhone does all I need and the iPad is there if I want a larger screen. When Job's came back to apple their product line was enormous and massively over crowded, by keeping it simple and compatible across all devices the user has a great solution
