TYRE SYSTEM ERROR

Looks like one of my smart tire TPMS sensors has gone on the blink
I've spoken to a dealer and they want to charge £250 per sensor not including removal and balancing.

The but that amused me most was that they had to sell me a pack of 4....

Anyone know of a a better option?

I've currently unplugged the control module to get rid of the annoying warnings, but I obviously value having a TPMs system as the car has no spare tyre...

I suppose this is the thing with stuff like this. A few years ago, only high end cars had stuff like these tyre pressure sensors, now every supped up Corsa owner can buy the same stuff for pennies.

You could just go somewhere else. Are you sure you’ve got the price right?

Main dealer recently quoted me around £126 each inc Vat. + fitting. An Indi even less.

I was told £120 by the dealers today. Luckily I didn't need to replace them when the tyres were done.

When I had my wheels re coated.... I made a point of removing all sensors and valves, and re fitting with some copper grease on the threads..... Hopefully next time I need tyres etc, they'll come undone easily..

It's a shame that none of the aftermarket kits seem to have an alarm output. If that was the case then you could easily replace the smartire crap system with something like the above and still get the warnings in the dash.

The valves and sensors can be bought seperately
Plug the box back in and work out which is giving you trouble
Then replace that sensor (my need some set up to allocate it to the right wheel)

Don't forget that you have to drive for a bit before it activates.
