Looking at Vantages in the PH Classifieds

I check the Pistonheads classifieds quite regularly the last few months, to dream, monitor prices, specs etc. I have noticed a few things. For example, there are a few private sellers that from looking at the background of the image and not the car, they have sold other Vantages in the past. I might be over cautious but surely this is a dealer under the guise of a private dealer. You buy from them and you are without any form of comeback. I suppose if the car is in the condition stated and a good price is paid made, then fine. But...

In one advert (a very nice looking blue Vantage at £33k) the rear reg plate is different from the front reg. Could be a mistake, being lazy using library images or more likely two different cars. I'm sure I've seen that location before too. If the seller is genuine I apologise now for insinuating otherwise.

And from previous posts recently we know that buying from a dealer isn't always plain sailing but more pain sale'ing.

I've been doing the same recently and have been quite surprised at some of the ads, I've called after three cars to be told they were all sold some time ago. I've even seen new ads go up for cars that were sold three months ago, probably tactics by the dealers to get you calling after cars.

Surely the blue one shows a pic with the owners private plate then other pics are with the proper plate

Hopefully it's that simple. I'd be checking that car out if it was the right time for me.
