V8V rear park assist thrown a wobbler

Tonight when I tuned on the ignition, got a short "beep" in addition to the annoying "system check" gong, but it went away. It might have done this once yesterday too.

Anyway, noticed the button was lit while moving forward - still not over familiar with the car, so thought maybe I'd pressed to disable.

Reached my destination, reversed into a slot - no beep at all.

These things happen, so ignored.

Continued my journey & as the radio was muted, noticed a crackle like radio interference from around the light switch - killed the radio completely, the noise continued.

Got home, in driveway, pressed this & that - engaged reverse, got a mixture of beeps (nothing whatsoever behind me), so maybe sensors dirty. Wiped them off, but the pattern continued.

So came inside & poured a drink - it might sort itself out overnight.

Anyone had any similar funnies with the park assist system?

Don't know about the Radio issue but parking sensors click when activated so if you put the car in reverse (engine off) with the ignition on you can listen to each in turn to see if there is one that doesn't click (ear needs to be close). If you have an auto then of course someone needs to be in the car to hold it on the brake.

Mine went a bit weird once where they beeped even with nothing behind the car. Left it a couple of hours and it was fine. They've been fine ever since.

cheers for that. The noise (should have expanded on that) came from the same location/area as the actual beeps when it's working as it should - I just didn't realise it had its own "speaker" - it was that which was making the noise, not the radio. I'll try listening to each at the weekend if it hasn't sorted itself!

Plus 1, rear sensors stuck on after a particularly bad rain spell. Corrected themselves an hour or so later.
