Stratstones DB9 Service

Well, I have to say that whilst I have had mixed experiences over the years with other dealer marques, I can not fault the service I have received from Stratstones Derby since owning my first DB9 Volante.
Its just come back following its 70K service and I was impressed that my dealer was happy to negotiate on the service costs which had been quoted by other dealers at being between £1500-1800 anf niether of them would let me provide my own oil. I supplied my own oil and Stratstones Derby completed all of the work including MOT for £1300 inc Vat, which I didnt think was too bad. My nearest Indie quoted me £1150 inc Vat. So I think the extra £150 was worth it to have a main dealer service.
Stratstones continue to impress as I also had the dreaded corrosion paint bubbles on both wings and again Stratstones fought my corner with Aston Martin and got both wings replaced and painted with only a very minimal contribution from myself. I gather from looking on here other Aston owners havent been so lucky in getting AM to undertake the corrosion work outside of the 3 year paint warranty.
So all in all a refreshing change to receive great service from those that we commonly refer to as the steelers!
No doubt someone will tell me I have been ripped off at £1300!

Hi Dave,

Nice to hear when someone has something good to say about a main dealer for a change. I went there last week as I had broken a spring clip on my brake caliper when putting new front pads in. The guy in parts dept was great and said that although it only came as part of a kit he had one kicking around that I could have FOC. It's little things like that which cost nothing give you an overall good feeling about somewhere.

Sales dept were completely different though, they must've thought I didn't look like a customer as they all scurried away when I was looking around the showroom and didn't want to make eye contact. They were the same when I was looking to buy earlier in the year, very condesending on the phone, no call back, etc. Ended up buying from a well known independent.

Wouldn't put me off using them for service though.

I can't comment on the price you paid but I've also got nothing but praise for the service department at Stratstone Derby. They've dealt with all of my work, paid and warranty, in an efficient and professional manner.

I think Steve hits the nail on the head, Nick - Dealer Service Dept usually good, Sales Dept usually mixed review.

Despite being covered in oil, you tend to find the service guys ain't the slippery ones

Likewise Stratstone Tyne And Wear, I've found their service side to be first class, from the reception through to the technicians. So much so I thought it was worth a letter to their CEO.

At the end of the day, as long as you come away with the feeling that you've had a fair deal, good service, and a feeling that you've got good value for money....what more can you ask for....

Couldn't agree more. Inexpensive and value for money are completely different things as I know from bitter experience

Excellent customer service, reasonable on price, will definitely be going back.

70,000 mile includes the plugs doesn't it so £1300 all in is a good price.

I found the parts guy at Hagley really friendly and the guys there who sorted some issues out when I first got the car even though it wasn't from them.

Used Stratstone Derby for servicing over the six years I had the two V8 Vantages (both of which came from them new) and never had anything but good service.

The same applied to sales too ...

Mine was in a there a few days ago too. As you say, excellent service and weren't as expensive as you might think. Been very good to me so far tbh.

My V8V is currently in with Paul and the team at Stratstone Derby for a new clutch and some other work. I have always been treated with the greatest respect, and have found both Paul and Sal very approachable. Whilst I was there my wife and I had a look around and had a chat to Holly, one of the sales executives. She was not pushy at all, very attentive and helpful. I was impressed that she had noticed my car in the car park, so already had an idea of the kind of colour I like (i.e. not necessarily grey/silver/black. They are all a credit to Stratstones!
