An extreme version a la the 695 tributo (Fiat 500 done ferrari style) would make sense and I am sure one of the big problems with cygnet is they have done nothing whatsoever with power and one assumes cygnet is heavier so is actually outperformed by it's toyota donor car
But there is a difference between putting a souped up 1.4-2 ltr engine in and a V12....
Also the juke R basically has Nissan GTR underpinnign with a different shell - this is surely barmy ?
Why not just stick the Vantage's V8 into it, that's pretty tiny? Would give a little more oomph but not much more than the 4 cylinder. A win all round

I would have thought that there are better things to be doing with the companies resources than wasting them on doing feasibility studies on things like that.

Insofar as we can be serious in this discussion, I would venture that they either do a performance version with a 4 cylinder blown engine which can then be kept pretty sensible moneywise in relative terms, or they go the whole hog and do a V12 not because it's sensible, but precisely because it's so loonyStupid idea, even by Bez's standards, he must be posting on his Blackberry from Oktoberfest or something.

VW managed to stick the Bentley/Phaeton W12 into a Golf and made it utterly, utterly horrible to drive. But a Golf is still significantly larger than an iQ!
Was thinking maybe it'd be mid engined, but no back seats or rear end to lose for the engine to fit into. Stupidity or not, CEO going senile or not, I just don't see how it can fit into it

^ agree 100%, I'll never say never but even the standard IQ engine takes up a fair bit of the bays capacity....
I think pretty much everything, pumps, reservoirs, pipes would have to go to the boot and maybe even electric steering would be needed *shudders* - that'd make a little bit more room.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the whole idea of the Sicknet to reduce AM's overall pollution level statistics?
Besides, you wouldn't even get a V6 in the cygnet let alone a V12!
Just needs a 1.8 turbo. A few styling upgrades. A few lesser Toyota parts....
And it'll still be ghastly!

A few others have done similar things creating mad hot hatches, although not with a V12, mainly with V6s. Micra 350SR, Toyota Aygo Crazy and Clio V6 for example.
Perhaps they could split the V12 into 2 V6s and have one in the front and one in the back so it's 4WD?
