In 2011 it sold 62,0000 cars confused

I think that this may be more than it has ever made in the last 99 years !!!!!

Nice if you can do it. Even better if you have a wife ( you can trust) domiciled in Monaco who receives the dividend.

What a wife or a dividend which shackles the business with debt?

'It said the LUXURY SEGMENT of the car market had been “severely affected” by recession. In 2011, it sold 62,000 cars, against 110,000 in 2007.'

Not sure what Aston's share of the 62,000 or even the 110,000 was.

As has been said, the sold numbers are nonsense. I wonder if the profits figures are also wrong.

Does anyone have access to Companies House information, so that we can know the correct information?

The internet shows a variety of different figures, but what I have found is:-

YEAR END Dec 2010.....SALES £474.3m....PRE TAX PROFIT £31.7m
YEAR END Dec 2011.....SALES £506.8m....PRE TAX PROFIT £-4.3m
CARS PRODUCED 2010...5000 approx
CARS PRODUCED 2011...4200 approx

Whether these figures are correct I do not know, but the production numbers must be closer to reality, than those shown by The Sunday Times.

Profitability for Aston Martin is clearly not easy. I do hope any debt does not become a problem in the future.

Rough maths: 500m turnover, 125k per unit = 4k units sold.

It could mean the "luxury car" segment moved these figures rather than AML.

Pre-Tax Profit 2010 = 6,884,000 2011 = -33,125,000 (loss)

Turnover grew to over £500m but you can't tell from the financials of Aston Martin Holdings what 'fees' were paid out to the Middle Eastern holding company.
