There are couple that have an aftermarket one I think? It looks like a tent that's been stuck on the top.
That must have been what I saw (green one). It did indeed look like a badly fitting tent! Reminded me of a Triumph TR8
Glad they didn't leave the factory like that.

Meh, that's not as bad as I thought it would be! As an emergency measure, it seems to do the job very admirably.
Now I want one
It's not too bad but it's hardly great is it? It loses the lovely flowing curves of the car. Plus it shouldn't be driven with the roof on anyway! Now I want one

As I said before, better than Ferrari's effort with the 550 Barchetta:

Yo, Georgeous, aren't you on record as hating the Zag ?? Would a topless one suddenly endear it to you ??
Only a couple of things I don't like about the Zag coupe - the wheels, the rear spoiler, the rear lights and the price tag. Hopefully they wouldn't put a spoiler on a convertible, so yeah, I probably would like it more

Really surprised they've managed to sell 75 of these monstrosities. An object lesson in how to destroy one of the best styled cars ever produced, IMO.
Got to disagree. The only thing I can see wrong with the V12VZ is the price. Earlier this summer I did actually balance-up whether to cash-in on the 59 plate V12V and get one...or, as I have done, keep the V12V and get a rather nice DB4 as well. The former would have been stupid and wreckless, the latter less so.
I think the V12VZ for the money is a really long punt for an "investment" vehicle. There is not guarentee in 50 years time it will be anything as iconic as the DB4GTR. Further, I suspect that it will go down the route of the awful V8Z, DB7GTZ and the AR1. That being so, I hope I can bag one in 5 years time when they are significantly depreciated.

They never expected to sell all 150 - that was a maximum. But the more you look at the vehicle, the more you realise how over priced it is, regardless of what it might cost to make
This has to be a vehicle that will be available for sensible money in a few yrs time. As you say, as an investment, if you buy it new, it's a very very long term view you'd have to take
Can't see the drop top making sense for the factory. They couldn't charge less than the coupe and no reason to think it would sell any better - bearing in mind the cost and expense of creating a roadster that might only sell a handful, I just can't see it. They'd be better developing a junior one 77 to sell at the 500k they'd have to charge, using an engine mid way between vanquish & ONE 77, no CF tub, less elaborate finishing on the hidden components and a modified vantage or vanquish chassis/body
I'm still seriously tempted by the Zag. But even all the man maths in the world can't make me justify that amount of money. Certainly because every car I have, I have to drive. Regardless of its price tag.
I also found the production just not as sexy as the early racing car, with its open front wheel arches, lack of spoiler, etc. Maybe one day... but by then they will have gone up considerably and completely out of reach I'm afraid.
And OT: I can see them do a convertible version.

This car is a classic case of the Emperor's new clothes. How anyone can look at that guppy mouth and think it looks better than the Vantage it's based on is beyond me. The same goes for just about every other aspect of the external design.
Mjk1 - not picking a fight with you...just discussing an interesting topic you raised.I think it is all eye of the beholder stuff. If you go back to my comments of the DB4, I would say that to my taste, I would say the DB4 Mk1-4 were the best looking (with the upstanding lights), then the DB4GTZ, then the GT/Mk5. I find the MK5 (or really DB5) not as good looking as the MkiV. Yet there are many that say the DB4GTZ and DB5 are the two most beautiful cars in the world!
The DB4 Mk1 to DBS(i6) were, i believe all the same basic car with different skins (getting thicker and heavier as they went on). So the Emperor did indeed have new clothes between 1958 and 1972!
