Where do you unleash the beast!

Just a quick question...
Given that mr plod and our government dont approve of us playing with our pride and joy on public roads; Where do you actually release the horses and feel the AM behaving as it was designed to?

I dont want to 'break' my toy, so not looking to thrash it to within an inch of its life, but i would like to have the opportunity to at least taste the AM's potential once in a while without the fear of killing myself, anyone else or losing my licence!

I've not taken my AM on a track, but I've had my previous Noble and Esprit V8 to Vmax (5 times in total):

The Continent?
Empty moorland roads with excellent sight lines?
Empty motorways in the early hours?
A favourite A/B road on a Sunday morning where you can see there ar no plod?
On a PH run-out? (unless you're Jockman)

The fun is in the acceleration and braking, sustained high speed stuff is VERY silly in this country. 0-70ish can be a lot of fun and completely legal.

And revving your car high won't break it, the engines are strong, and there's a rev limiter to protect the components which cuts in far earlier than they are rated to. Select 2nd instead of 4th at speed and you'll regret it, but otherwise the upper limits of the rev range are there to be explored

The common answers are track days and European trips
I also do VMAX (runway once in a while for top speed - there's a section in the PH forum on vmax)
For non 'event' type ops, it's down to where you live. I'm only an hours drive from the EVO triangle in North Wales so have a run over that way once in a while - if you go onto the regional subforums for where you live I'm sure you'll get some good feedback

Our cars love to be driven. The harder the better, you simply won't hurt it. Blatting along at 170mph plus whilst very engaging is not what it is all about. Look for some decent stretches of road with plenty of bends then use the gears . Make a mental note not to use 5th and 6th gear then nail it, try not to use the brakes, change down instead,then give it full bore in second. Head for the red line , lookout for the traction light blinking on and off. Feel the back end coming momentarily loose then that gorgeous feeling as those big tyres bite the tarmac. Keep the window down by about a third, the noise is amazing. You are now driving your Aston Martin as the factory intended. Your car will feel alive and perform all the better.

Book yourself on a Petrol Head Nirvana full on tour. Your life will never be the same again.
