I have had good results from checkatrade.com when selecting tradesmen. Has anyone tried this This website to obtain a garage quote?

I used one similar about 5 years ago that identified Grange Bracknell as my cheapest franchised dealer within 50 miles...that was when i lived just up the road from them

seems like a good idea, I just did a quick test for a 70K mile service and the price range was £400-900 ...with official dealer at the top and some other big garage chain at the bottom

Yes, I used the site a few months ago. I got quotes between £600 and £1100 for the DB9 service, I even got a discount for using the site. It gives you a starting point to ask for discounts.

Just need to compare like for like, some of the quotes did not include a coolant change which I wanted to make sure was done.

Very. The price quoted for mine is exactly what Adrian quoted a few weeks ago on the phone

Sorry Phil I have lied. They quoted me £730 inc. I suspect the extra is for polishing my knob. Only one way to find out matey

Yours is a 510 DBS matey, if that explains the difference. I have a lowly 470 9er. It's the logistics that baffle me.

And as for polishing your knob, it really depends on the quality of the shampoo and conditioner

Therein lies the crux of the issue Rich.

I too would drive mine there and spend the day with Karen out and about like we did in Derby.

What astonishes me is that they can offer all this at such a low price !!

Very useful site, do dealers/indies routinely charge for collection?

Normally included in the price Mark - best to get confirmation though.

You will also find that Dealers tend to lure you in with a keen price as they can recover a bit on the extras like tyres, brake pads, warranty work, alloy refurbs etc.

Thanks chum, I think I'm tied into a dealer for servicing with the car under an extended AM warranty - at least that's what I was told by an AM after sales manager. Looking at that site, it's actually cheapest with them anyway, bizarrely!

I must admit I've never asked about collection... I think I paid a similar price to the one mentioned above without it.

I will go with the best deal then, not necessarily the cheapest one
