Cheap 4.7 V8V - too cheap?

Hi all, been lurking in this forum for a long time, and am just now thinking about making a purchase in the next few months.

I've just stumbled across this 2009 V8VR 4.7 :

I appreciate that it's high mileage, but even so, it just looks waaay too cheap. My gut feeling is to ignore it (it's above my budget anyway).

But I'm sufficiently intrigued that I have to ask what you all think of it? Maybe you know the car? Is this at all genuine?

Looks genuine to me and seems good value for money.

Yes its done 60k but hey, it is what it is.

I would suggest booking an appointment and test drive and see how it drives. 60k is not a lot of mileage for today's modern engines, and especially for a large capacity engine.

That is a nice spec 4.7 and does seems cheap even with the mileage. Make sure you get as much history as you can and assure yourself it isn't an ex hire car or been used for track days. Not necessarily bad things if it has been looked after but it is cheap for a reason and 60k miles doesn't seem enough reason to me.

Same year, 50k less miles and a hardtop for £6k more, I'd go for the more expensive one .

The red Vantages are really starting to grow on me. That might be the lack of light blue ones, the reds are drawing me in!

But that is only a 4.3 and a coupe so apples and oranges. £41k for that car looks to be a bargain but like everyone says check it out thoroughly. Not sure why there is all this fear of mileage on AM's if it was a Porsche, an AMG merc or a 1.6 Focus with 60k no one would bat an eyelid.

Porsche, Mercedes and Fords are more normal as daily drivers whereas Astons aren't. I don't think we are saying high mileage on an Aston is bad but it definitely needs to be understood on a car that is not normally seen with high mileages.

Well spotted, didn't even see that! Don't think I paid attention as it's out of my price range. Must look closer!

Thanks for the comments guys. The mileage doesn't bother me. I appreciate that the car will be worth less on resale, but given the purchase price that's hardly a concern.

I was just quite stunned at the price of this, and assumed foul play.

To be honest it's about £7k more than I was looking to spend, but I'm coming round to the idea of taking a look at it - I can always borrow a little bit.

I'll give it some thought.

The mileage wouldn't bother me either if if had good history and felt right. I'd much rather have a car at 3 years old that has been used than one at 6 years that's been parked up for most of it's life.

its probably spent its life on motorways cruising ....if the service history is good then thats a bargain

especially if its a 2nd car to do 5K miles in a year yourself, within a few years it will have "average" miles on it

Agreed. A colleague has a low mileage db9 that he bought used. It's constantly having money spent on it because it needs this or that. Mine is slightly higher mileage and somebody else has paid to get 'this and that' sorted out.

Remember that 3 years and 65k miles means a service every 6 months or so and not just 3 annual ones. Also it needs a service and some cosmetic work as well which may be factored into it. It does appear to be a little to good to be true. Maybe tyres, brakes need attention which would add to the bill. The next price point on AT is 50K for a 5th of the mileage.

However the dealer does list 3 AM and a Mercedes CL here so it has got to be worth a phone call.

I started off looking for a 4.3 as I thought the 4.7 was out of budget. Drove both and decided to add the extra for the 4.7, definitely worth it if you can. Went for a slightly higher mileage car than I had expected to (44k miles) but the car was well looked after, in great condition and had a main dealer warranty.

You could always have the car inspected, if all is ok and you can add the extra - then you won't regret it.

Price seems about right
My old 4.7 MY09 none marmite sport pack roadster went for £52k with 23k miles on almost exactly 12 months ago.

If you want one go for it. I've got my eye on the coupe market and 3 cars, all lovely yet not one of them is quite right..... I'm getting closer I can feel it.
