Also, what are your opinions on cars with high number of owners ? I looked at a stunning dark Blue V8V with Kestral interior, I wasnt sure about the Kestral before I viewed, but in the flesh it looked stunning and contrasted perfectly with the outside colour and the deep blue carpets, the issue is that it had 6 previous owners, this has put me off the car, should I be concerned or alarmed ?

Would need more details but on the face of it seems good value to me.
Having sold my Vantage last year, which at the time seemed like the right decision and which I now deeply regret, some of the prices I am seeing for cars today are tempting me to come back into the AM fold.
This one is too far from me, but I do like that colour combination. Would need to know the number of owners as too many would worry me and need confirmation of who has been servicing the car.

Number of owners is a weird one; I for exampel really don't give a crap how many there are if the service history is perfect and can be verified.
Others would soil themselves (in the bad way) at the thought of there being more than two. The car would obviously be a ticking nuclear bomb just waiting to go off and shower the world in molten engine debris and gearbox shards... though none of them will give you a rational explantion why
It's a bit like mileage, we all have levels that we're comforatbel at. I am rational and know that a diesel Discovery will run for 150000 miles easily. But i have doubled my budget to buy a 47000 mile car. No rational reason, just felt more comfortable with it.
Come resale time, the many-owners car will be harder to sell. It isn't worth less, just has a slightly more limited market, a bit like a red Aston.

Love the Toro car - good value too. Get yourself Grants guide and it will help you pick the right car.
High numbers of owners would put me off, but it's a very personal thing. Buy on condition, buy on a decent service record and make sure you have a little slush fund to remediate any snags.

i think with something like an AM you shouldnt really ever be scoping around the bottom of the market, cars are priced cheap for a reason and although you may get a bargin it would worry me.
I gave myself a budget that placed me at the top of the table, and although i may have bought one of the most expensive V8 vantages out there im so comfortable knowing i got the best.
for example its got 1 owner and 8k miles on the clock, i took it into AM to have a couple of post purchse niggles sorted under the warrenty, outside of the warrety these repairs would have cost over £700 at retail, just tiny bits that some people would live with but in the quest for the perfect car ive had done... after all if im driving an aston martin i want it to be perfect and not a bit rough

The reason it would put me off is a concern as to was it fully serviced by all the previous owners - if whilst being serviced a non warranty fault was found - was it done? If it was a major service did one of the owners get the garage to just do a minor service and stamp the book. The other thing with high number of owners is did they all care for it, or was it abused. Rationally it could be the same with one (non) careful owner but that's just how I would think, more chance of being abused / unloved with lots of owners.

Which is great if you have the money. If your budget is thirty grand and you want a Vantage, you buy a 30 grand Vantage, not the most expensive one out there. my argument being that i wouldnt want a 30k vantage, id rather not have one and wait a little longer than gamble . possibly end up with a dog whos clutch goes 2 months into overship, needs tyres and brakes and then you cant afford to have them done, you end up with a 30k car needing 5k spending sat on the drive, lots of stress and a ruined am ownership experience.
