About to take the plunge!

Hi all, I'm currently rocking around in a Discovery 3, had 2 of them and loved every minute. However, my needs have changed and as the kids are now driving themselves around, and I have a TD5 Defender for snow/dog/caravan towing duties, the D3 will be departing as soon as this years skiing trip is over (end of Feb).
I feel a mid-life-crisis coming on, and have the irresistible urge to get an Aston. This has been fuelled by my mate at the golf club who got a brand new DBS a couple of months ago, and I have to be honest, the sound of it would make me sell my soul, and wife, and dog to get one!
Alas that's the dream, however reality is that I will be spending the equivalent of a new Disco4 on a second hand Aston (upto 50k) This puts me into DB9/Vantage territory, I definitely want a manual car - been driving the auto D3 for too long and want to be involved. I also want it to be a convertible. Have bought and read the Buyers Guide (an excellent book full of good advice) so I think I know what to look for.
Currently a couple of cars in the tinterweb at the moment, there is a black DB9V, and also a Vantage N400 popped up this week. Just waiting for the right moment. Anyhow, I will let you know how I get on.

DB9 Volante manuals are a) very rare and b) very good 
For the same money as a 4.3 Vanatge roadster you get a V12 with 450bhp, seats in the back for luggage and most toys as standard. Weight is slightly but not noticably more and handling is less twitchy due to the longer wheelbase.
If you see one and like it, jump on it, they are rare!
