Winter Cover - Vantage

Hi - firstly sorry if this has been covered elsewhere!

I"m collecting my dream car next week an 08 MY Vantage and to say i'm excited is an understatement : For the previous 5 years its been loving cared for in a nice warm garage, sadly its in for a shock as I converted mine to a utility room some years back.

I'm after getting a cover to protect it through the worst of the winter months and wondered if anyone had any views on the subject. The prices seem to vary significantly but most seem to claim they are breathable, water resistant and have a paint friendly inner lining. Any recommendations would be much appreciated, thanks.

If mine lived outside I would probably do without a full cover, I'd be too woried about trapping the dirt on the car and scratching it.

I'd probably just get a top cover to keep the windows clear while it's frosty.

I have friends that keep thier cars and aircraft toys outside all year round and they use breathable covers.
I personally have had issues with moisture/mould etc.. when covering toys up, granted this was using indoor covers, so could have been lack of ventilation?, but whatever the reason, it has made me prefer to leave everything open... Personal choice i think.. maybe there isnt a right answer?

If mine lived outside, it would be without a cover. Park it under a tree like AMDBSNICK and all kinds of crap can fall on it also . Seriously, I would be more concerned on scratches from trapped dirt than any damage the winter can do to the paint.

Carcoon do a good range of outdoor inflatable covers with vents. Not cheap but also not horrifically priced.

thanks guys - maybe I need to get my head around the fact that the Vantage is a reliable car from a build quality perspective and would have been thoroughly tested under the Ford regime and will have no issues being out all year round (subject to a good quality polish of course...). Need not treat with kid gloves...

I had all the same feelings when I bought my vantage a couple of years ago, promptly purchased a quality outdoor cover after loads of research and comparing of the products available. Works really well the demo at the top gear show was excellent, proving it's waterproof and breathable.
But only used it a couple of times as I wouldn't fit it if the car was dirty and at this time of year the car gets dirty every time it goes out.
Still have it if you are interested it's in perfect condition but I suspect it won't get as much use as you imagine unless unlike me you are happy to have the fantastic motor sat parked up for days or weeks on end, mine was out as much and often as possible.
