What to go for??
Discussion
Hi,
I am new here and I am after some advice. I am looking for a 2007 V8 Vantage and have found quite a few that fit my budget and also options fitted criteria.
Two have particularly taken my fancy. Both of these cars have roughly the same miles on the clock they have dealer servicing history and about the same price and options I like fitted.
However, one is from an Aston Martin dealer the other is from a specialist sports car dealer. Both will offer 12 months warranty, one Aston the other the dealers own. Which should I go for? I know this type of question has been asked before somewhere, but could someone please help me out?

Would depend on which AM dealer and which Specialist. If its a specialist that knows Aston's (McGurk's seem well respected on here) then won't be problem.
True... but lame as warranties are, I would still rather have the Aston one than an aftermarket RAC or similar.OP; buy on condition, not location! And 300 quids worth of pre-purchase inspection could make the warranty all-but pointless anyway

Put a couple of links in here to the car's that you are interested in. Most people on here are already owners and can then offer their opinions.
AM warranty at this point would be the preferred option and this can be extended in 12 months time or you can just keep that money in a car fund account-just in case.

Here are the links to the two 2007 V8 Vantage I have my eye on:

I’ve heard that Stratstone will not budge on the price??
Talking of Stratstone, does anyone know if they will move a car from one area to another for viewing and also test driving?
No sure on price question as I did not haggle on mine on the basis I thought they had made a mistake on my P/X Talking of Stratstone, does anyone know if they will move a car from one area to another for viewing and also test driving?
They moved my car from Cardiff to Hagley

They moved my car from Newcastle Upon Tyne to London when I saw it online. They asked me for a £1k deposit before they did this which they said was refundable if I had 'rejected' the car. Turns out they didn't charge me the £1k deposit before I saw it anyway. Talking of Stratstone, does anyone know if they will move a car from one area to another for viewing and also test driving?
There was no budging on price... I probably should have tried a second year warranty.

If there is a reason to move on the price, I don't see why they wouldn't. A Renault dealer would claim they don't negotiate, in reality everyone does for a good enough reason. I would argue it looks good value personally for a main dealer car. Talking of Stratstone, does anyone know if they will move a car from one area to another for viewing and also test driving?

Nope, Stratstones won't budge on price.Talking of Stratstone, does anyone know if they will move a car from one area to another for viewing and also test driving?
I was also recently looking at an '07 Vantage from Stratstones (I ended up buying one from elsewhere). Like I've said in your other thread, if I ended up going for the car, I was going to ask for a) the next service to be completed, b) fresh rear tyres, c) battery conditioner, d) indoor car cover and e) an umbrella. Knowing what I know now (ie from reading on here about someone else's experience), I would have also asked for a 2nd year of extended warranty.
And yep, they will move any car which is in 'group stock'.
They're close.... But for me, on balance I think I'd go for the back one..... Cruise control which I like, and Bluetooth would probably swing it...... But I'd also like to know how many previous owners.... That makes a difference to me...
On the other and, I like the Blue one, because you don't see that many that aren't black or Silver....
Difficult decision, but I'd definitely not be making it until I'd been and seen (driven) both cars..... It would only take a small thing to bug me, and make me change my decision, from one to the other...
A for Stratstones not negotiating...... That's up to them, but if I were aft their car, I'd make an offer, tell them that if its accepted, I'll sign now..... If they're not interested, then they've made my decision for me, based on the Blue one also being suitable of course
