Vantage V12 Pad replacement

I've just replaced the front pads on the Vantage, it was an easy job, 30 mins per side. Thought you might like to see the state of the old pads.

What mileage for this wear? Track days?

Also they have been overheated to get like that for sure. Lots of heavy braking around Combe no doubt..

16k miles, last 5k mostly motorway
1 day providing rides round Combe for charity
Most worn pad was down to 3mm. Least worn was 4mm
New pads are 11mm
Same pads as 360 Ferrari made by Brembo

You let them go waaaay to low mate:-( Your ceramics wouldn't have been liking the contact with them pins, or the extra heat from lack of pad.

Had em checked by AM and they told me they were ok till wear indicators come on, surely that's correct?

checked disks and they are fine, smooth no wear and no grooves

You're very lucky then mate. I've come from a string of Porsches running ceramics, You daren't let them run under half worn when using on track, Not so bad for just road driving. It's always a good idea to change the pads a little early when running ceramics. The biggest advantage is the ability to distribute the heat better with a bit of meat on the pad.

16K, lucky bugger , They seem very cracked for 1 day of track use, mine were down to 3mm before SPA and I had new ones fitted, but they looked nothing like that after a day at Brands.
