Aston Martin 100 Years Plaque Unveiling

Went along to Henniker Mews in Chelsea on Tuesday to see a plaque unveiled by chairman David Richards and Roger Carey, chairman of the Aston Martin Heritage Trust. The plaque celebrated that it was 100 years to the day that Messrs Mamford and Martin started their business on this site. Dr Bez was there, as was A3, a 1921 prototype and the oldest known surviving Aston Martin, and a Centenary Edition Vanquish. The Vanquish was beautiful, but A3 was captivating!

I was a bit "meh" when I read about the graduated paintwork on the Centenary Edition, but your real-life picture does it far more justice than any of the publicity shots I've seen so far, CG, it's stunning!

In which case, here's a better photograph! The Vanquish paintwork is amazing, and you wonder how on earth it is done. The interior is a bit "tart's boudoir".

I was a bit the same but when I saw the one they had at the Centenary Dinner I changed my mind. I thought it looked great - but still not for me though.

Masking tape and overspray I'd say

Not unusual in custom car circles, just time and labour intensive, which is fine on a limited car.
