I'm a first time AM owner and in March 2012 I bought a 2010 V8V Sport Pack which now has 6600 miles. She's a showcase model so has every conceivable extra and cost the first owner £105k. I also had Paul at Miracle Detail spend 23hrs and £2k giving the car a complete detail so she's been cherished.

I'm also a black labrador owner and he's completely my responsibility at the weekend which doesn't partner well with the V8V. So I may have to change to a RS4 Estate, C63 Estate or something along those lines that gives me dog space PLUS the thrills of driving albeit not an AM.

Selling or shooting the dog isn't an option as I'd rather put a child on eBay. What other cars will fill the void?

Don`t fancy a second vehicle? Would be a shame to get rid of that for a dog.

Go for a cheaper estate as a dog carrier then you get to keep that lovely Aston smile

I'd be keeping hold of that and buying something like this:

Would make for a lovely stable.

So for example, I'm going to the Southsea Rally on Saturday at Goodwood on Saturday and will need to take my son and my dog BUT I also want the drive there and back to be an event. Otherwise the AM just doesn't get used.

We have two Newfoundlands (23stone weight between them) so fitting in my March 2012 V8V isn't an option. The solution was a Peugeot Partner ATV and the Aston. Selling was not an option.

RS4 B8...I am in the same predicament . Looked at E63 Estate, but mpg appalling, and you need diff to make it come alive. Don't go for RS6....a 2 tonne point and squirt locomotive. Had a C5 and C7....never again.

Agree with the RS4 or even and S4, both in Avant guise. Fun to drive, quattro so driveable in all weather and practical.

I drove the C63 AMG Estate and it drips with personality. The Audi, seems cold.

I'd go with Woolie, RS4/S4. Bags of power, great grip, reasonable capacity (although rear legroom was surprisingly small on mine). It's not a supercar, but practical fun. Yes, they all look the same inside, and they are a bit clinical, but they're both great engines.

In that case the RS6 Avant is the car. That V10 is just epic, but matched to the practically of an estate car and the driveability of a four wheel drive.

As per previous posts, get a second car if you can, or chop for an earlier V8V and a fun estate along the lines mentioned above. The shoddier the second car, the more enticing the Aston is to drive smile

None of them come even close, but that's a personal opinion.
Would also suggest a second (cheap) car or a QP as replacement?

Already running a Disco3 and a Mini. My need is for space for four and a dog matched with performance and thrills. Think it has to be a C63 Estate and my V8V on the for sale board.
