Programming ECU remote key

I have a couple of spares key fobs and programming codes. Does anyone know what's involved in terms of coding these to a specific car.

I am due a service at the end of the month so was thinking about negotiating the coding as part of the service cost as they will do bugger all else after 12 months given my mileage and I presumed it would be a simple job but would like to understand what's involved.

Also does anyone know how much these keys are from AM as I will only code one to my car and probably sell the other.

Maybe I should get them carbon dipped .

Glass key around £500 and plastic key around £200 from dealer but they are sold on fleabay for less than half that. Dealer charges around £35 to pair the key with the car. Once its paired thats it you can then use the key on another vehicle.Think they do it though the Aston diagnostic system .

Has anyone been able to get a Thinkdiag to work properly with a Gen 2 Vanquish or V12 Vantage equipped with Bosch ECU’s? A Thinkdiag is able to read codes through my 2015 Vanquish’s POWERTRAIN port but doesn’t communicate through its BODY port. As such, I can’t access many Special Functions including key programming. My local dealer has reported that both ports are working properly and my Thinkdiag works fine on my other car (Audi). I’ve reported this (and sent diagnostic logs) to the tool’s manufacturer (Thinkcar) but they’re unable to figure out the problem and are making vague promises of a future software update.
