DB9 Rear parking sensors?

Not sure if anyone has had this problem before, but the rear sensors on my 2005 DB9 seem to work intermittently.

Sometimes it will work, and the 10 mins later, nothing!!! When I put the car in reverse and they don't work, I try pressing the little P button by the sport button, but all I get is a load on bongs and that's it. Am I missing something? Does that little P button do anything?

When I bought the car last year I planned to take it back to get it looked at but tbh I forgot, and the only time I get reminded is when I'm in a tight space and need its help.
Any ideas?

Make sure the sensors are always clean. Dirt affects their performance.

Never really thought about that. Ill see if there is a connection over the coming days. Thanks
