Leather Dye

Hi all

I am struggling to find where I can obtain some leather dye to repair wear to my drivers seat bolste,r seem to be able to find most colours except moon shadow which is what I need.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

I've also just bought some Liquid Leather from Gliptone. Just cleaner and conditioner though.

I've used it on other cars in the past and I'm pretty sure that they will be able to provide the correct colour for you. They can either colour match from a photo (which, due to the nature of the beast, won't be exact). Or what they also suggest is if you send them either a) a sample from somewhere or b) a removable piece of trim (such as a headrest or armrest). They will colour match it then send it back to you.

Me too... didn't see it on the liquid leather page though, did you find it?

Hi Lewis, I am just waiting for liquid leather to come back to me regarding whether they carry moon shadow in stock.
Once I hear I will let you know.

Ps looking forward to meeting at Gaydon on Sunday. Pitty your car won't be there, I have read a lot of the posts on the work you have had done and maybe you can give me a few pointers on how to improve my DB9V!

Spoke with Liquid Leather, they dont stock MoonShadow so they have asked me to send a piece of trim to colour match! Surely there is an easier way?

I imagine that you can drive your car to them, if you want. If you don't send a sample, how else do you think that they can colour match it correctly?

This is what they say on their website here:

"If you are unsure of the colour name/description you need, we strongly advise that you post to us a sample from your vehicle. There are many places to look for a good sized sample of leather or vinyl. For example under the rear base seat, if not from the seat itself, look at the base of the side panels that are hidden by the seat. If an estate, there is generally a plastic trim covering the joint between the carpet and leather at the top of the rear seat, fold the seat down, unscrew plastic trim and there should be a long piece of hidden leather you can cut off and send to us. Many customers send us a headrest, if you send this the colour copy will be virtually 100% perfect, only post by recorded post, we will return by a secure method, either post or courier depending on the total weight of your order..

It is important that you supply the car make, model and year, a trim code will also help us build up more information for other customers and for you if you need more dye in the future. Look for the code on the identification plate in the engine bay, it will say "TRIM"."
