Cars not as described...so frustrating.

Getting a little frustrated with people wasting time selling cars. I think some people just take people for a fool. Do other people find it so hard to buy cars privately? I like buying cars at any price range privately as i think you get more of a feel for the previous life of the car.
I'm looking for a an 06 or 07 Vantage V8 in Meteorite or Black, more options the better, nav and premium sound are essentials, sub 40k miles, ideally sub 30k miles, really though i just want an enthusiast owned car that the owner hasnt tried to run on a shoe string.
If anyone has something they are looking to move on by the way, feel free to contact me, cash is burning a hole in my pocket for the right car and owner!

If your requirements are genuinely just the age, colour, 2 options and miles I find it hard that people can't meet the brief easily or you weed them out before going to see them.

Equally when people want things like "pristine" or "A1" etc, it all gets very subjective.

Well, owners saying they have never had any issues with a car during their ownership, then finding a load of work advisories required, i.e. what they really mean is the car hasnt broken down and they havent spent any money on it. Maybe your expectations are to high..
I would class my car as enthusiast owned. Maintained to a high standard. Driven with mechanical sympathy. 22k on the clock and in great condition...
BUT...... It's a 7 year old car. It has 7 years worth of gravel rash on the rear flanks, 7 years worth of stone chips on the front, 7 years of getting in and out on the seat..you get the picture..

I think you're right mate.... Just been out to the garage.... Looks like all the wheels have fallen off.. And a load of other bits too....better call the scrap man

I reckon that's pretty obvious? I wouldn't want a car that the owner had 'stretched' to 18 month or 2 year service intervals because 'they do low miles'. b
ks, they do it to save money because they can't afford or won't afford to run the car correctly. Not saying they don't have the money in every case, but some just won't spend it as needed. Tyres to the canvas, pads to the metal, anything that can just about wait unti the next service waits... Or they sell the car like that 
I wouldn't want a car that had been home serviced. Obviously many people are capable of doing it but many others aren't and just have a go. How hard can it be... I wouldn't wish that on any future owner! But even the ones who are capable, I don't want that, I want EVERYTHING done at a dealer or Aston specialist. Because when they are fiddling with one issue, they tend to notice other things that normal people don't...
Neither of my Astons ever wanted for anything, no matter if it can wait a couple of months, I get it done there and then. I'm an enthusiast and don't run on a shoestring.
The complication is when you have a capable enthusiast who likes to fiddle with the car

Because, righty or wrongly, I don't want an Aston Martin that has been looked after at home, no matter who has done the work.My Alfa was totally rebuilt and serviced by a guy in his own garage (he is an engineer at Bentley). So that doesn't matter to me, my perception is that newer and therefore more complicated cars need to go to a specialist. But we're all different and think differently

Complicated
Yet, with some main dealers and specialists [not necessarily Aston] the apprentice is doing the oil and filter and other work while you are being charged an arm and a leg for not much more than a stamp in a book. This is no reflection on all garages but when it comes to TVR or Lotus I would prefer a home-maintained enthusiasts car.
