Wonderful DB5

Had lunch at the Grosvenor Pub in Aldford today, and this totally fabulous DB5 was in the car park........lunch was pretty damn good too

My oft told story of choosing a new TVR over one, they were the same price in 2000. Now I think I'd be too afraid to drive one for some reason.

A lime green Miura passed me yesterday on the A3, similar story of driving something worth nearly half a million pounds...

Yeah, don't think I would be able to relax if I'd parked a DB5 I'm a carpark, but fair play to the person that did.

I've never been able to predict car values, but sounds like buying one in 2000 would have been a stonking investment. I had no idea they had gone up in value that quickly.

You might say that

DB5 was 45k and new TVR Tuscan was about 50k. Wanted to go fast rather than have class at that age, think I was 25 at the time.

4 days after collection my friend smooshed the TVR backwards into a bridge at 15mph causing 10k of uninsured damage.

Well, that's the time to be glad you hadn't bought the DB5 it would have cost a hell of a lot more than 10k to fix.

i think the rear bumper on a DB5 is worth that these days .....the one in the carpark was perfect.....whats that worth 300k ?

I'd say more if it was perfect. There is one that's just had a nut and bolt restoration for £450k in the classifieds.
