New to the Aston brand

Hi All,
Bit bored in the office so thought I would get myself on the forum. Been on a few forums with previous cars and thought I would enrol myself into the world of Aston owners.
Bought my Aston at Grange Brentwood back in November, a v8v 4.3 sport shift roadster. After browsing through posts I sort of wish I went for the 4.7, but it was hard enough getting insurance for the 4.3...
I've also found a QUICK 3 point turn is near impossible with sportshift, but it gives others more time to admire the car as I wait for the gears to engage...
Love the sound, love having the roof down, struggle to cruise in the car as I enjoy bombarding streets with the sound of thunder far to much. Probably classed as your typical Essex boy racer, without the typical chavved up saxo! When a tunnel appears, windows go down, smile grows, couple of downshifts and a push on the loud pedal!!
Would like to make a few changes in the near future, starting with clear rear lights, BR clutch and after saving up some penny's their exhaust system.
One question, currently have a bit of a bug for track days, managed to do a couple this year so far and would one day love to get the Aston on the track, even if it is for some delicate laps, how do the pads and discs fair on track, will the v8v eat through them quickly?
Anyway, enjoyed reading through all the posts to date and picked up a lot of tips and tricks to date, back to working my way through some more posts, everyday's a school day!!

Lovely car, well done!Drive smoothly, don't stamp on the brakes and they'll be fine. It's a powerful car, not a delicate lightweight so use the revs and power, they are there at the top end. Gaydon cars on steels suffer from appalling cooling, i.e. not at all, so limit yourself to 10min stints rather than 15mins and they will last longer. If you do TDs, you know not to leave the handbrake on and to roll the car forward after a few mins to let the heat dissipate rather than being held at the calipers. Consider the BR brake upgrade as well to floating 6 pot calipers and 380mm discs at the front, the rears remain so it's not too pricey. The change is astronomical!
Being smooth and doing shorter stints will also help the tyres to survive. But it's a heavy car so expect wear!

c) Do you speak Cockernee?
d) Can you drive a getaway car?

Congrats on the car, I drove my 4.3 SS around the track plenty of times and while hard use will see brake fade, you will still be able to push on for a few laps no problem.
Gerrym has just bought one and is in Essex, perhaps we need to club together and plan a job.... I mean have a run out.
Also tunnels and dropping 2 or 3 gears is in the handbook under the section called 'Aston ownership requirements'

haha, probably the new wave Essex boy! The balaclava would certainly mess up my hair, and the sawn off would scare all the woman off. The ridiculously small mirrors would also distract me from the road, so count me out of the getaway driver post.... Im a painting a picture here?? a) Do you have a sawn off?
