Carbon Black -v- Std Grille on a Vantage
Discussion
Does anybody have pictures of the new "Carbon Edition" optional front grille on a Vantage please as I would like to see how dark it is compared to the standard grille (not the Bright Grille - but a 3 way comparison would also be appreciated).
I've seen one fitted on a new Vanquish but as it is a bit more curvy than a Vantage it is clearly not the same part and thus I just wanted to check the colour was the same (i.e. plain satin black with no carbon or metallic effect).
Cheers

Haven't got a picture of one fitted to a car but this link has some pictures of the grill itself which should go someway to answering your question...

Ahha, thank you! I should have remembered your car had the carbon grille!
The reason I ask is that Aston have kindly agreed to replace my front grille under warrenty as it had chipped in several places, which couldnt easily be explained as stone chips. Anyway I asked if I could have the option of the Carbon Edition grille instead and was told that I could and I should have it fitted early next week.
I saw a MF Vanquish in the showroom with one on and thought it looked very nice and suited MF even better than the Std, and so I said I would go for that instead, but just wanted to check tonight for pics of it on a Vantage. A MF V12V Vantage is of course the perfect picture for what I was looking for!
Here is my car with the old std grille fitted for comparison purposes. I actually dont think there is a huge amount of difference between the two colours, but I think that darker is better for high contrast look on MF!

Think this is it Adam - I think it looks good on MF.

My car has Carbon Black sill plaques - I asked MakoV12V about it and apparently some non black Carbon Black cars were produced.
Have you thought about C.F side strakes? That really would finish it off. Lovely car!!

What sort of front numberplate plinth have you fitted, or is the plate just screwed onto the bumper.
It's quite a shallow plinth which wraps under the 'bumper' . I was going to have it removed and screw the plate directly to the car but as soon as I saw that it was indeed shallow and the plate was not raised in front of the grille I was very happy to leave it. Little Donkey said:

Yes I agree and looked at the ones for sale at astonbits, the only thing that put me off was the installation of them looked like it might be a big and expensive job which would make the cost unjustifiable. I then pondered on getting them wrapped Edited by Little Donkey on Thursday 14th March 21:04
3M produce a gloss carbon wrap material that might be a reasonable match to the real carbon at a modest cost but I haven't had time to look into it further and I'm worried that unless it looked perfect it would be naff and George's fire would be fuelled even further
