I recently purchased a kit from Chipex and yesterday summoned up the courage to finally sort out my stone chips on my car.

I had quite a few large chips in the front valance and lots of very visibly chips on both wheel arches and side sills in that location.

I read the instructions a few time and watched the videos which did help, but this didn't stop me being nervous about starting this job. I need not have worried as I followed the instructions to the letter and it was quite easy to do.

I managed to fill the large chips in the front valance, but I think they will need another application. I can't see them if I stand away from my car, but I know they are there, if you know what I mean?

The ones on the wheel arches and sills were a different matter. There were loads of little chips (road rash) and also a few bigger ones, but too many to dab away at with the little applicator. So I did as they suggested using my finger to put in the paint pot and just touch each area with my finger. As it was cold I had to leave it a little while longer to dry.

I was a bit concerned about the amount of paint I had on my car at this point, as it looked awful. However, after using the blending solution the excess paint came off and left nearly all the chip marks covered. I had to do it again as there were quite a few marks that needed covering.

Having done this, like the front of the car, standing away from the car, I can not see the chip marks and it looks really good. I will probably have another go at some point as I can see I missed a few that were not obvious when I started putting the paint on.

I can't recommend this stuff high enough, absolutely brilliant and I am a DIY incompetent! when I got my pack they were having a sale so that was an added bonus.

If you haven't got a pack,(but I am sure some of the veterans already have?) I suggest you get yourself one for those inevitable chip marks that will appear on your car.

I do not work for this company or am I affiliated to this company, but their service and product is brilliant.

I've acquired a couple of chips lately - just ordered some myself. Thanks for the recommendation.

I really struggled with my stuff, perhaps I'll have to have another go at it but basically it left the wing mirrors looking worse than when I started. scratchchin

You do have to practice to get the best results. I've wasted loads of paint getting the road rash technique just right but when you do, the results are great.
Customer service is top notch too.

CarbonV12V If you enter the colour name in the box provided at the top right handside ( http://www.chipex.co.uk/ Its the dark blue square with the red 'go' button) of the home page and then proceed as requested and we can make the paint from this.
Hope This Helps!
