Im trying to change the door mirror on my 2006 V8 vantage. how do i get the mirror glass out of the housing?
Hoping someone can help
When you get to do it, is there any chance you could take a few photos and post them? Its always helpful to see how you're going to do itHoping someone can help

Thank you for the information.
What I'm attempting is to change the mirror housing (not the rear cover)as mine got hit & broke. Aston only sell the housing with the interior. I've got hold of a housing & want to put my interior into it. I've got the door panel of, however, I dont really need to be in there. I have to disconnect the wires inside the house & it looks like I have to get the mirror glass out. Is this clipped in or on double sided tape? Once the mirror glass is out I should be ok. Any ideas?
Thanks
Colin

It seems like nobody knows, a lot of the guys on here don't work on their cars themselves.
In my experience with other manufacturers, if the mirror glass is heated then it normally clips in, not stuck with body tape. However they often crack when removal is attempted.
You could try and cut it from the back with nylon string, if it is taped, the tape will cut through and you can clean it up, and reuse.
If a replacement glass is cheap, get a spare before you start the job, Is the actual mirror used on anything else, it might possibly be Volvo sourced.

Hello Colin, I don't know the answer, so I'll go back to wide guesses as the best form of information. Looking at the diagram that is posted ...... thank you ...... is the piece you are changing part number 3, or does part number 3 come in different pieces and you happen to have got hold of the piece that you want to change. This is what I'm guessing at.
I don't know if its stuck or clipped, going on previous experience (I have not changed my own), then most mirrors nowadays are stuck on with double sided tape, having said that I have changed mirrors with double sided tape on that have a plastic backing that clips on.
I can't believe that AM would stick it on, so I'm guessing that the mirror twists off inside its housing.
Really sorry Colin I'm about as much use as a fart in a space suit
(I'm sure others will agree)
Colin - it is possible that nobody on here has undertaken this specific project.
Let's face it....if Mavo hasn't done it?.....shame on him
What would I do??? I would be emailing Tina at my Dealer (JCT600) to get the exact answer to my question - not for her to do anything more than get me the answer and provide me with indicative pricing etc. This approach is foc from any Dealer tbh.
Please let me know if you require a direct link to Tina

According to the AM parts list that accompanies the diagram posted earlier the mirror glass part numbers are as follows
6G43-37-10124 Mirror Glass RH (EEC version)
6G43-37-10125 Mirror Glass LH (EEC version)
There is another part listed as well but it is not numbered on the diagram
4G43-C47775-AA Foam Strip Adhesive (Mirror Base)
