Has anyone tried to get a Quantum Silver touch up stick from Aston Martin ?

I was informed that they don't produce one for this colour. Seems a bit odd ?

Cheers,
Ian

I was unable to order Jubilee silver touch up paint from AM. I was rather upset to say the least, that they sell a colour they won't provide a touch up for.

Get some made up by a paint specialist in a pot. then go to Halfords and get any of their paint pens and empty it out. Wash with Celly thinners and fill with your nice new paint. thats what I did with my paint, works great.
Job done.

Get the code from under the radiator cover and give it to Chipex for a full touch up kit
Jockman will give you excellent guidance on how to us it wink

Just go to Chipex and put you paint code in and order. They have a sale on at the moment.
Fantastic stuff and easy to use, I love it for sorting out my chips etc.
You won't be be disappointed.

Another vote for Chipex, great customer service. You don't need to take the radiator cover off to get the paint code though, just look in the compartment in the boot on the left side where the sat nav disc player is.

It's not there in a roadster, not sure about a V12V
I always take the rad cover off because I know that is always there

You dont need the code, Chipex has a drop down selection box on the website for car make, model and colour.

The website says....

"What is the Shelf life of the Chipex paint and blending solution?"
The shelf life of the Chipex paint is three plus years and the blending solution is two years.

So what is the general consensu... Its more economical on price to buy a larger pot but im wondering if it has a shorter shelf life once opened? (above doesnt say if opened or stored from new?)
Anyone used it, then stored it for a couple of years and then used it again?

Is it really that simple to apply?

I've got a very irritating chip just above the seal at the top of the windscreen that needs sorting.

My DIY skills are, shall we say, shyte.

You would be pleasantly surprised - for skill content it probably rates on a par with washing the car.

Very simple to remedy if you are not happy with the initial application.

Patience is required if you are filling a deeper hole, as best done in layers.

Imperative to get the correct shade and shake well - mine looks a tiny bit darker in certain areas.

Oh, and having Mikey K as a tutor always helps smile

Ta.

I feel that the task might best be outsourced to Mrs Whoami.

Her level of patience being much higher than mine (which is non-existent).

Was there on the V8 Hard Top but must admit I haven't looked on current car; as Arjxh said Chipex have drop down boxes on their website so should be straightforward to specify the colour as long as you are sure of the name. Sorted mine yesterday and had Ventureshield fitted today and from 3 ft away you wouldn't know they were there, close up if you know where to look they are visible but I partly put that down to Morning Frost being a more difficult colour to match.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I'm hoping to touch up a few hairline scratches on my new Quantum Silver V12 (my OCD).

Oh wait, did I just say I bought myself a Quantum Silver V12V biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Does anyone know somewhere in London or Herts that I could obtain some Quantum today (Friday) ?
