That's quite worrying. What about the blue coupe they have (2005) with about 59k miles, they've had that just as long!

Maybe stick to an official dealer for piece of mind smile

Can't comment on that particular car, but if you can stretch the budget and are ok with the colour (which is helping the price!), there is a well priced "official" 4.7 (big step up) with a nice spec (although it's manual and the other is Sportshift I assume) you can always make an offer .. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/a...

Id guess a couple of reasons it's been for sale that long, The dealer and the mileage.

Thanks for every ones replies, I am after a cheap donor car which can be hand over to Bamford Rose to do their work. Early roadster, sports shift for personal reasons which won’t be to other people’s tastes, I know. Hope this helps with replies.

If you are going to let BR loose for me its about the cosmetics then
I contemplated the same before I bought the S, started looking at N400's then decided I wanted the 4.7 interior.
Then decided an S with BR mods would be a beast!

Are they actual opinions, or Chinese wispers/Internet Bravado/BS?

I know two people who have had two cars each from there, and have had no problems whatsoever... granted, they weren't £40k worth, but still...

I'd say treat the cars on an individual basis, rather than "Oh it's them, it must be st!"

Most cars from dealers are reliable and cause no concern for their new owners......however.......sometimes a car will have a problem and this is when you discover how good a dealer really is ........

Not necessarily. Unless I'm wrong, 6 months is long enough to trash and rebuild a cat D.

I looked at the blue coupe the other week and it was a really rough looking car. The bonnet looked like it had been painted in my opinion and wasn't a very good job either. I'm sure it was a very nice at some stage, but having seen it for myself I can understand why it has been there for sometime. I ended up paying a few thousand more for a main dealer car with a warranty.

Unless it was covered in stonechips it will have been painted the bumper was also very chipped as where the rear 1/4 s I have had 4 V8s now I think this one which was a really early car dec 2005 drove really well, but it was untidy
