Hi, just wanted to check if anyone knows whether there are any exhaust systems available to make the DB7V sound more raw like the db9/vanq? i'm not a fan of the usual sports exhausts available for the db7v. I love the look of the 7v but love the sound of the more modern cars.

I tried it with my DB7 Vantage at a couple of good exhaust shops... the DB9/DBS exhaust system has a surprising amount of valving and pipework in that backbox to give it that burble and distinctive sound.

I had a very free flowing sports system and race cats on there, but the best you could say of it was that it was 'loud'. So in short no... unless you were to have a DB9 backbox fitted, although you would struggle for space on the back end of a Seven scratchchin

Thanks Yeti. I was thinking of asking Mike at BR if it was possible. Just wanted to check in case anyone has already done it

Hi peeps,

not sure about this working lark but the fees I'm getting away with are astronomic hehe

My DB7VV has a "Larini" system on it from the cats back - no centre box, no middle boxes and just small sports boxes at the back - sounds awesome !!!

PM if you would like details of where to get one "trade" smile

LBS don't Larini systems scream like a wannabe Ferrari V12 sound yuck rather than sounding fantasticly burbly and deep ears

Define 'wannbee Ferrari' George? Ferrari haven't copywrited the sound of the pitch of a V12.

You want low and rumbling, you get a V8 like the children have.

What I mean by wannabe Ferrari is a high pitched, screaming V12 sound. Aston's should sound brutal and deep toned. Hence by fitting a Larini system, you want to try and emulate the Ferrari V12 sound (quite why you would want to change the Aston sound is beyond me).

You can also get screaming V8s too btw... tongue out

LBS says sounds awesome yes and his car definitely would not be mistaken for a Ferrari - pure Aston but very loud biglaugh
