So it turns out I don't have a Tracker problem but a corroded fuse box shorting out the battery and sending the diagnostics haywire.
New one on me - standard 500 pounds to replace it of course - anybody else had this defect - yet ?

Had a similar problem after replacing petrol pump (£922) and throttle sender unit(£520) as this is what the diagnostic equipment was showing, fault was then traced to a fault in the power steering ,(all same circuit seemingly)fault was cured, but the dealer said they had found some corrosion in the fuse box and it would need replaced total cost £1800, but still love my car!

I assume the front one but will check when I get it back.

If water gets in to the electrics the codes all go haywire - mine was showing faulty roof - so I am kind of glad I have not replaced roof mechanisms etc only to find it's water ingress .

My 08 DB9 is with the dealer getting the fuse box replaced. Electrics wouldn't stay off after turning off the engine and removing the key. Called the Emergency Assistance to recharge the battery and the problem came to light. Taking an age to get fixed though. They're replacing the wiper motor also for some reason. All done under warranty which is good.

For the record it was the front fuse box - it cost £200 for the replacement and with labour they managed to get up to £750 not £500 as reported .

Maybe I should just buy a BMW like everybody else - seriously tempted by the i8
