All,
throughout the last year of ownership i received the red check engine messages four times when trying to start the engine. Motor cranked, but refused to fire up well. Switching off ignition and then back on after some seconds worked fine in all the cases. To me there seems to be some systematic behind that:
In all the cases it happened when the fuel level was below approx. 25% and when there was an outside temperature drop while parking the car for some time (sun-> rain or day -> evening).
Could be an issue with gas vapour volume contraction (aka vacuum building up) in the fuel tank so insufficient amount of fuel being present at startup. second ignition cycle then would reprime the carb.

Someone else observed the same at similar conditions?

Thanks
M

"reprime the carb"! Which model Aston is this, pre 1980? I didnt think they had a red engine check light.

OOps, just read your profile Dom. Obviously something lost in translation and you have a DB9.
