I was playing around with the remote garage door opener on the V12, but can't seem to get it to work... managed to programme it according to the manual, the LED flashes etc, but it doesn't actually make the gate lift/shut when I press the buttons..

Anyone had any issues/success with it and can maybe advise what i'm doing wrong?

I had the same problem - phoned up the door manufacturer and they told me there are two frequency systems, and guess what?
However they could sell me a converter (for about £120+) - my solution - I carry the spare remote in the car - works perfectly wink

I have a DB9 and it woks fine, but it did take a few apparently successful programming attempts until it worked. The range also seems limited.

I will give it a few more attempts then - did you try any specific buttons? I was programming Button1 to get inside and Button3 to get outside.

DB9, no problemo.........Just can't fit the car in the garage so it's only really useful after Costco runs smile

Ive programmed mine to open the gate but it wont work on the garage because its a different frequency... The Aston should be duel band!

Word of warning though... My ex used to leave her remote in the car so she could bring shopping through the garage (her car wouldnt fit) and some sh@t broke into car and used the door opener... needless to say they got into the garage and then the kitchen before the beasty dog woke everyone up. So please think about leaving spare fobs in cars.

Works perfectly on mine. I programmed two of the buttons the same way and both work but I have to press and hold it a couple of seconds for them to operate the door. (The garage remote just requires a quick press)

This...

Must be closer and hold longer than the garage remote to activate the door. But it always works.

My GDO programmed straight away and always works albeit as said above, you need to hold button in for 2-3s.
