Always wondered about that. I have a loose fitting generic cover just to keep the dust off in the garage which works well. I have always thought trying to drag a tight fitting cover over anything but a spotless car would be asking for trouble and I certainly don't wash the car after every use!

That's another good pointIt also helps seal moisture in as Greoge can confirm
(though his is outdoors)I have a dehumidifier in the garage to help dry out the water from the inaccessible parts after a wash or run in the wet, so pointless covering the car with that running
