...would like to ask for your experts' advice.
This morning, when refuelling my Vantage S, by conincidence I spotted that the small inner flap in the filler neck (see image) apparantly had gone its way down the tank. What is it for? Do I have to replace it? Likelihood for damage in the fuel tank of even engine?

Thanks in advance and best regards
Eki

looks like the restrictor for stopping you putting diesel in the tank has come loose, no idea though if it would cause any problems.

Can't imagine that would cause engine damage... there's filters and things to stop exactly that.

I'd expect the tank to be tough, it's supposed to hold flammable liquids in a moving vehicle you might crash!

Might rattle about and piss you off I guess?

Thanks for your comments. So, not a serious topic. Will leave it as it is - and avoid Diesel filling.

You might want to wait til you get the opinion of an expert.

I'm definitely lot that, should really have prefixed my post with "I don't really know what I'm talking about, but..." smile

There's a few people on here that know these cars inside out.

One problem I could envisage is if it drops so far down that the fuel nozzle won't go in the hole. Then you'd have real problems filling her up.

Somebody call me ???

OP, the main issue I can see with your picture is that your wheel nuts are missing. Nice Alloy though yes

No problem smile

I wouldn't be comfortable having something you should be able to see, not visible.

If it's fallen off, could it be blocking something (now or when it's been vibrating about)?

I can't see it causing engine damage etc. But if it were to prevent you refuelling (for example), it could prove a bit of an inconvenience!

Jockers - you'd have been st on Ask the Family biggrin
