My beautiful V8V has now been sold to make way for a much older Aston, and now I have my special edition Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Vantage GT watch to sell. Does anyone on here know the best place to sell it - Ebay with a reserve?
Thanks

Do you have good feedback on eBay? If not, then take good pictures, do a good description and put it on chrono24 - it'll cost you 1% or so I think, so 40 quid for a 4k watch etc.

There is also a Classifieds section on PH, but it's not great for watches. A dealer will offer you a derisory amount frown

Thanks for the info. I've fab feedback on ebay smile , but there are a lot of 'dodgy' watches sold there, so would prefer not to get mixed up with those. I'll look into Chron024

It's unisex, 26mm x 30mm face. I've only a smallish wrist and the 'mans' version was too big for me

shame - I agree that size is unisex in the reverso, though it was marketed as a ladies, with the grande marketed as the men's IIRC. If it had been the larger vantage reverso, I may have been interested, as despite them both being geared towards the V8, there is an engraving of a generic vantage roadster on the back. However we have opposite problems - that size looks too small on my wrist unfortunately

They come up incredibly rarely and suit any v8 vantage roadster owner so you might do quite well with it. In fact I don't recall ever seeing one come up on the market - they can't have sold/made many ?

I was looking for months and months for it, but I've now invested in a DB2/4, so it's not quite the right era and it should be owned by someone with A V8V

As long as it's marketed so that a sufficient number of the right people see it, as I say, could do well. It will suit people in any country, it's cheap & easy to ship, it's of potential interest to one assumes several thousand people (i.e. V8 roadster owners from the 4.3 right through to the ones currently being made) and it's relatively affordable - I'm guessing they cost c. £4-5k new ? And worth £2-3k now ? But in an auction, could get anything given as I say, I don't think you'll find another in a hurry

Just my two penneth of course

where to buy or which watch ? certainly on where to buy, I think Yeti is your best source of advice though there are definitely others on here that can make a valuable contribution. As has been mentioned by others, Chrono24 would definitely be my starting point

As for which watch, if you want a 'DB9' watch, I think the only one is the DB9 transponder. But there are non-model specific AMVOX2 chronos, the original amvox alarm and the new amvox7 - I like the original amvox, but suspect the 2 & the 7 are more 'in keeping; with a DB9

It's definitely the looker of the bunch and the one all the kids are talking about!
It's a "wow cool watch!" And not a "wow nice watch, is your Dads?"

tongue out

Sorry Steve couldn't help it. The irony is after all the digs I've made, my next Aston is likely to be a V8V frownsmile

It's much more discreet

the only indication it's in any way tied to aston on the front of the watch is that the number '8' is red (for V8)

On the back, there is an engraving of a vantage roadster (outline of bodyshape & the words 'vantage roadster') - might not be to your personal taste but surely you can see the appeal ? The thing I like about the JLC Aston watches is that on the front of the vast majority, you'd really have to know what to look for to see the AML links, precisely for the reasons you mention above

Nope ...don't get the appeal in anyway......to me it just devalues a fabulous watch.......a like maltesers but a don't want one showing on the front of my Patek
