We collected Purdey's replacement, Pearl, last Friday. So far we have completed 560 miles. Its early days yet but here are some observations of how the V8S has evolved 2 years on from when we first took delivery of Purdey:
Build quality has moved on a bit though difficult to say exactly how. She just feels better screwed together! MPG hovering around 24 despite a spirited drive to Shelsley Walsh in the company of a GT3 RS on Sunday. Seat padding seems more cosseting. Glass switches are a big improvement as is the reversing camera. The sat nav is a doddle to use. The gearbox has been sorted to the extent where you can drive it happily in D mode.
Complaints there are but few, the main one being that Pearl is much too quiet!!
Without doubt the latest shocks provide a better ride, though exiting tight up or down hairpins will still lead to some pogoing of the rear.
The remedy then to these small niggles? Well today Pearl paid her first visit to Mike and Adrian at Bamford Rose. They prescribed "Purdey Spec" i.e. BR's Manifolds, lightweight flywheel, twin plate clutch and Switchable Suspension.
Whilst I was there they noted Pearls tyres are wider than Purdey's. On lifting the bonnet they both noted differences lurking within and somewhat intrigued a laptop was plugged into her brains where other changes were noted (however I am not at liberty to tell you what was going on there!).
Hopefully BR's prescribed medicine will be fitted vey soon, then my life will be complete again

Mikey, sorry you would need to ask Mike and Adrian. Jockman. BR's enhancements were removed before the car went to Newport Pagnell. They are being re.fitted soon.
She was an organ donor???.....what a star

Rob, can we safely assume that the SiL will not be added to the insurance?
See you at Brands
