DBS Squeeking Brakes
Discussion
I'm sure this has been asked. On here before but I can't find it.
I have a 2010 DBS Volante and the brakes just squeal all the time!
The dealer says it's just a "feature" of the ceramic set up!
Well, it's bloody annoying!
Part from standing on the pedal at 80mph for an hour and a half, is there anything that can be done?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

The dealer is just spouting the same old bull (as they do for every other issue). Most Astons don't do this. However, I don't know the fix. There's lots more info on AMOC regarding CCM disc noise, so I would start there. Seems to me I remember reading something about a fix, but that could just be senility setting in...

I honestly can't remember what the fix was, but it was certainly cured.
I seem to remember that it took a couple of visits and I had to persevere against the TADTS first response.
Common issue on the steel set up both mine have done it
A oft tried cure is the Pagid bedding in procedure
http://www.brakes-pads-discs.co.uk/pagid/bedding-i...
Worth a try
The other issue is the handbrake being poorly adjusted, workshop manual states due it on a lift, Factory senior tech told me that cause it to tighten up when weight is put on the wheels causing squeal a low speeds.
Might be worth getting it slackened off a bit?

Took my last car back to the dealer because the screeching was downright embarrassing . They fitted shims behind the pads, problem solved, the noise never reoccurred . I remember they were blue and looked about the same size as the pad itself. All done under warranty.
Shims weren't blue the compound is blue instead of the copper based stuffI've had my V12V's CCB looked at twice in its first 12mths for the same thing and on both occasions the problem has just reoccurred with a week or two. AM warranty have now agreed to fit the new spec softer pads next week to resolve the issue - fingers crossed that it works! The new softer compound was, I believe, specifically formulated to resolve the squeaking problem.
Just be persistent with your dealer and ask then to raise it as a warranty issue if they genuinely haven't heard of the revised compound pads.

I have had the new pads fitted to stop the squealing....and it seems to have worked , get some noise when cold but a quick spurt and hard braking warms them up so not noise...i had to pay for mine though..!!!
I'm surprised you can hear the screeching over your whining about being left at a petrol station.....

Not yet so back next week for another shot BTW Retman did you get you rear end squeak/rattle sorted after Wales?
Was told it was one of the valves in the exhaust so had new near side exhaust fitted under warranty, was then separately told I had got a new backbox(?). Might get a new full system at this rate
, unfortunately not a BR one though

I should say they are initially only replacing the rear pads but Tina agreed with me that they will no doubt end up replacing the fronts soon after as they are just as likely to be squeaking as the rears are.

Yes, that's Leeds. Speak to Tina, she has organised it all for me.

Be interested to know the part number of the 'new' compound. Had a discussion with my dealer on many occasions over the last three years about brake squeal. They are unaware of any update on the pad compound - to the point that they suggested dealers may just be fitting new pads to try and get over the problem. I have seen/read the service bulletin that refers to CCM noise issues - not allowed a copy as its dealer eyes only
- but the basic content is TADTS and its up to the dealer to get the point over to the customer. I seem to remember "customer expectations" cropping up quite often over the two pages. But maybe I am been guided in the wrong direction and there in fact IS a material option/upgrade
