Can any body help me with a door lock problem please.

Vantage was unlocked, got in and shut the door. Went to get out a few seconds later and found I couldn't open the driver's door. Checked the passenger door which was okay. Operated the internal door lock switch, passenger door still okay but still could not open the drivers door by the internal handle. Bit of a pain to lower the window and open it via the outside door handlefrown......anybody got any ideas....thanksclap

IIRC there is a cable that operates it from the internal handle
Sounds like that has come off if the outside handle works!

Could be a simple fix actually. If the external handle works the lock, it may just be the metal 'wire/cable' connection from the internal handle to the lock jumped out of the back of the handle. Remove the door card and it will be staring you in the face. When I say wire/cable, not electrical, purely a mechanical connection.

Or if it's not the cable come off, mine had a spell of doing this. I disabled the auto lock function, which seemed to have caused the problem. Once it auto locked, the inside door handle would not opperate, disabled it and it did.

All fine again now, I think it just got a bit confused.

I had similar issue with V8V - just had the door catch replaced by the guys at Bamford Rose. The fault ended up being intermittent which was annoying but they sorted it quickly and easily. I had taken the handle off previously and checked the cable which was OK and it worked for a while after that but the fault was with the latch mechanism. For the sake of £70 and a couple of hours labour its done and sorted. Another great job by the Bamford Rose guys.
