Finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 DBS

One of the first things I want to do is to change to some flat wipers. However, the dealer said that it isn't possible to fit on the newer 2012 MY arms and blades as it will "damage other components".

However, I am considering simple using some aftermarket blades. However, I do not know if there are have problems with fitment, and which type to use? Anyone has recommendations for brand and model?

Just pulled fuse 22 so it sounds even better! biggrin

It's a manual.. I specifically wanted a manual to start. This is in Singapore actually, hence the slightly different looking plate etc.
If you are still interested, the dealer was a used car salesman named Autobahn Singapore. Decent customer service but they left the car parked out in the sun most of the time which wasn't exactly great for the paintwork. Still, nothing some detailing can't fix.

V8 Animal, you mentioned that your dealer fitted the Vanquish arms and blades to your DBS? Did they check with the factory prior to fitment? My local Aston dealer told me that the factory doesn't approve of the job. If I could get some proof that it fits, perhaps my dealer might be willing to do it.

The beam arms are exactly the same dimensions as the standard and fit onto the existing drive mechanism. The sweep area is larger than the standard blades and they do not touch or foul anywhere.
There has been a load of nonsense talked about this and after contacting Aston Martin requesting an explanation as to why it cannot be done, the net result.... no explanation was forthcoming. Most dealers are ill informed on this subject and give spurious and incorrect information.
The only difference is on the drivers side the blade is 26in instead of a 24in blade.
This would roughly indicate a 5% increase load under dry conditions..
Go ahead and fit them as others have they can purchased from Scuderia at Epsom.

The later 2012 MY blades/arms will defo fit. I fitted them to my 08MY DB9 with no problem whatsoever, striaght forward replacement. They have been on my car nearly a year now, they work perfectly & in my opinion look much better than the earlier types which I hated.

Actually, the stickers are for the road tax disc, as well as a couple of parking labels. Being in a place where cost of living is exceptionally high, parking is rather restricted.

It's nice and sunny here now, a pleasant change from the terrible haze a few weeks back. Still, I wish it was a little less humid smile

Do you want some photos??

Stratstone Derby UK fitted the wipers.
They work fine and look much better than the originals.

If it isn't too much trouble to put some photos up here, it'll really be very helpful smile
Yeah I'm trying to get my dealer to do it so my warranty won't go up in a puff of smoke.

Thanks for the pictures. I just had some correspondance with the dealer. He explained that ultimately since the factory gave him a flat 'no' as an answer, doing so would void my warranty. Thus we both agreed that this work would be done after the extended warranty expires in 2 years.

So far I got to say, it's great to drive the car and the proper manual gearshift with the roaring V12 really works for me smile
