I've not booked or reserved anything for the centenary event on Sunday and I'm now thinking about making the 200 mile trip to London. Do people think this will be worthwhile ?
Part of me is thinking that as a one in a lifetime event I should go but will it live up to this or will it be just another car exhibit especially as I'd be a regular visitor as I've not arranged any hospitality etc.
Thanks

I think a thread on the AMOC forum sums it up to me. Tim, the Registrar for the AM Heritage Trust, who has forgotten more about Astons than all of us put together probably know, and who knows what will be on display, reckons there are 34 cars he has never seen before - and he has seen a few.
I think it will be one of those events that if you do not do it you will always wish you had done. I am really looking forward to being there and seeing these cars - whatever they are

So it seems there are about 30 cars in the Park Prive area (access with a £50 vip ticket only) - the concierge said that the cars are visible to general public but unless you have vip pass then you can't get up close to them. There are three 2.5 hrs time slots for this area - so I am thinking, if I take the wife & kids, do I really need four tickets?
There will be enough to see and do in the general area for the kids and it's only me that would be interested in the 'special' cars. However, the park prive comes with a glass of bubbly so Mrs Ripley5000 will be attracted to this (but then she won't want to leave the kids outside!) - am I being too tight? It's already going to cost a small fortune as I'll need trains down, hotel overnight stay so thick end of £1k but it seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity.

This looks like a great, once in a lifetime, occasion. I'm flying in to be there. I'm sure the Park Privé cars will be stunning - great opportunity for £50 to get close-up photos.
Pretty big trip travelling in from YVR - I was chatting to someone in LA recently and a friend, also living in LA was coming across for this. Seems people are making a big effort.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
