Hi guys, any ideas on how to increase idle & low rev noise levels?

Car is a V8 Vantage 4.7 with a Quicksilver Supersports exhaust fitted!

Thanks

Drain the oil out and take her ice skating :P

Seriously though have a look at the Bamford Rose thread. Plenty of info there, cats, manifold, tuning.... lots to digest smile

Yeah, change the cats, It can actually make idle a bit too noisy, if you've got rid of the stock back box smile

That won't make any difference as the Quicksilver has no bypass valves.

thanks! and now for the cats.. What would you recommend between Quicksilver and BR?

I've been considering changing the cats for quite a while now but my only worry is that sensors will play up and all kind of warning messages will start to appear!

Keep in mind that at the moment i'm in Cyprus, no authorised AM technicians anywhere on the island!

Bamford Rose guarantee no warning lights.

The other company... well, there have been negative posts on the issue.

Yeti, do you think there are any compatibility issues with a Quicksilver exhaust and BR cats?

Will BR sell the cats without installing them?

That won't make any difference as the Quicksilver has no bypass valves.
It might not make any difference to a standard car either.
I think the exhaust valves are open, from 0 to 1500 rpm.

Only on startup IIRC

It certainly does make a difference on a standard car.

Oh sorry, I stand corrected.
Presumably therefore, the valves remain closed until the revs reach about 4,000 rpm.

Do you remember whoami, you said you would tell me the first registration date of your Grigio 4.7? Thanks.

No, because they can't guaranteee 'no check lights' unless they install them themselves!

QS backbox? If so, then no, nothing at all!

I've fitted a full miltek exhaust with 200 cell cats, no problems with the emissions warning coming up.

Either you take it to them, or you buy from a company who cares less smile
